Yup! Kelly Kapowski is all grown up. And on June 15th she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Harper.
Lucky for us, People Magazine snapped pictures of Harper’s nursery. Stunning!

Thiessen and her husband, Brady Smith, opted to create an “architecturally modern” nursery that is as eco-friendly as possible. They installed recycled floors and painted the walls with VOC-free paint (in light lavender).
The glider in this nursery is the Penelope Glider by Oilo in soft white faux leather with brown piping. The crib is the Oeuf Eco-friendly Classic Crib
. Both pieces tie in perfectly with the modern/sophisticated theme.
Thiessen also selected Serena & Lily‘s Flokati rug, Curvee side table and Haitian Drum table.

Wondering where they got this adorable crib bedding?
This floral crib bedding set is from Thiessen’s new nursery decor collection, Petite Nest, set to launch at the end of this year with her business partner, Lonni Paul. Can’t wait to see what else they will be offering!

Best of all, Sherry & John shared the entire process on their site.

From no-sew curtains…
… to their art wall for the new nursery.
We’re sure that Sherry, John and Clara and enjoying their time together in this breathtaking room.

It seems like the selection of changing pad covers in the market is a little lacking. I see the same changing pad covers in every store! Thankfully, Prudent Baby shared this simple tutorial on how to sew a changing pad cover and I just had to try it.

The only problem was that I didn’t own a sewing machine. In fact, I didn’t even know how to use one!
So I went to Amazon.com and purchased this little sewing machine. I purchased my fabric and other materials at a local shop and in less then 2 hours I had a set of matching crib sheet and changing pad cover.

You can follow the same instructions for the changing pad cover to sew your custom crib sheet. The only things that vary are the length of the fabric and the length of the elastic you will use.

Changing Pad Cover:
Fabric size: 48″ x 32″
Elastic length: 36″
If you would like to use two fabrics, like the Prudent Baby sample, you need
Accent Fabric: 17.5″ X 32″
Main Fabric: 30.5″ X 32″

Crib Sheet:
Fabric size: 72″ x 48″
Elastic length: 56″
In case you’re wondering, the fabric I used is designed by Patricia Bravo. It’s Wheels in Dazzling from the Sugar collection. You can buy it online here.
Please leave a link or email pictures if you give this tutorial a try. I would love to see how your custom sheets and covers turned out.

This Days of the Week clothes rack is adorable!
It’s practical, especially when you’re changing an infant’s clothes 2 or 3 times a day, or you can use it to display all those cute outfits you received at your baby shower!

It would also be fantastic in a toddler’s bedroom. You can hang it low and let your little one help you pick out their clothes!
I think I’ll be making one of these for Sophia’s room very soon.
