Nursery Design Ideas: Neutral Elephant Inspiration Board

I told you I was inspired by the color palette of blue and gray with a splash of yellow from Max’s Naming Day and today I am delivering. This inspiration board is perfect for a baby boy or girl and this room has plenty of room for baby to grow.

The best part about a nursery like this one is that if you change the sheets and replace the elephant items, you’ve got a completely different nursery.

1. Curtains: It is nearly impossible to find striped yellow curtains! But you can make these yourself for minimal cost with this tutorial.

2. Crib: Oeuf Sparrow Crib in gray (Conversion Kit and Changing Tray sold separately)

3. Hanging lamp: Normann Copenhagen Norm 03 Lamp Shade

4. Fabric: Polka Dot Fabric for crib sheet made by following instructions from this Crib Sheet DIY. It’s super simple… I promise!

5. Paint: Grand Hotel Mackinac Blue 5007-9A from Valspar

6. Picture Frame: Grey Elephant Frame by DwellStudio

7. Dresser / Changing Table: Three-Drawer Dresser in gray by Oeuf

8. Bookshelf: Bookshelf Elephant Lemon by DwellStudio

9. Rug: Dots Sky Large Rug by DwellStudio

10. Toy: Heirloom Animal Push Toy – Elephant from Giggle

And if you’re really loving the elephant motif, try adding this cool baby elephant chalkboard decal from Chic & Cheap Nursery’s shop or buy it directly from WallCandyArts!

  1. Love this! I am working on my nursery and using a gray/yellow combo with a slight elephant theme. I found the cutest yellow elephant fabric that I used for the window treatment. You can see the latest post on it at this link and then the nursery category has more…

I love this! I’m don’t have a baby, I’m not pregnant, and I have no plans to try to get pregnant anytime soon but I do love to decorate and realized the other day that when I do have a baby I get to decorate a nursery (and sew all the nursery things). I googled “modern nursery” for some ideas and found your blog…. love love love…. whenever that day comes I’ll have so many (too many!) ideas! Thanks!
