I’m always looking for affordable and easy projects to create something beautiful for my walls, especially for my daughter’s nursery.
Browsing the internet, I came across this nice little project and I thought it would be just perfect for me.
It was too easy to make and the results were so stunning that I just had to share!
- Shadow box (I used a 12 x 12).
- Card Stock cut out to the size of your shadow box (or you can be lazy like me and buy it sized to fit).
- Butterfly Scrapbook Punch (or any other shape you’d like to use).
- Scraps of paper from where you will be punching the shapes.
First, I grabbed a pencil and lightly marked where I would place my butterflies on a 12 x 12 white cardstock. I decided to space them 1 inch apart and left a 1 inch border all around.
Then, I printed a beautiful paisley print that I found online onto a second piece of card stock and punched out butterflies with my new scrapbook punch. I bent the wings of the butterflies up a little to dig them a 3-dimensional look.
I placed a mini glue dot on each pencil mark I had made on my card stock and placed a butterfly on each mini glue dot.
Once you’re done placing your butterflies, all you have to do is place a mini glue dot on the back of the card stock on all four corners and attach it to the shadow box backing.
But your shadow box back together and…Voila!
All of the materials used for this project can be found at your local crafts store as well as, your local super store like Target and Walmart.
