My sister informed me last week that she had already picked out a crib bedding set for her nursery. She also mentioned that she would like a dark, modern crib. Based on her preferences, I’ve put together this design board.
Here are the details:
1- Bedding: Mod Dot 4-Piece Crib Bedding Set by Skip Hop {available for $198 from Modern Nursery}.
2- Crib: Espresso Straight-Up Crib from Land of Nod {$599 – $659}.
3- Rug: Mohawk Home Shag Starch Woven Rug from Target {$29.99 – $250, depending on the size}.
4- Wall Art: Simply Yours Custom Hoot Print by Hoot Design Co. {$125-$325, depending on the level of customization}.
5- Curtains: Canopy Chenille Grid Drapery (2 panels) in Rich Brown from Walmart {$19.96}.
6- Lamp: Mod Dot Shine Nursery Lamp by Skip Hop {$35.95}.
7- Organizer: Mod Dot Pockets Wall Organizer by Skip Hop {$18.95}. Instead of hanging this on the wall I would hang it on a side of the dresser, that way everything is at your finger tips.
8- Dresser: Room Essentials 6-Drawer Dresser available from Target. The dresser will double as the changing station. All that is needed is a changing pad. Make sure you attach the pad to the dresser using the straps provided.
9- Storage Bin: Bin-Go Large Storage Bin by Skip Hop {$16.00}. And it has a handle so you can take it with you anywhere!
10- Glider: Serenity Classic Non Swivel Glider in Chocolate Chenille (perfect match with the drapes) by Harmony Kids {available at Babies R Us for $359.99}.

Looks good! That’s not my favorite crib but the room would look awesome all together.
Another great job!

What would you do for a wall color?

@Dana, I would go with blue. You could light or a blue with a gray undertone. I also like the idea of doing stripes in blue and white like this: http://www.chiccheapnursery.com/2011/real-rooms/vans-nursery-vintage-inspired-decorating-ideas/

@Nicole Abbott, Oh I love the idea of the stripes and dots together.
