Black and White Nursery {Inspiration Board and Decorating Ideas}

At birth, baby’s vision is pretty fuzzy and the most interesting things in the world to him/her is your face and high-contrast items, like a checkerboard. Inspired by this, I’ve put together this black and white nursery.

I went for contrast between white and black, and modern and traditional {hence the modern crib and rocker paired with the classic dresser}. The birch crib and rocker add another layer of contrast to the room.

The room design is pretty neutral but I added a girlie touch with the curtains. You can swap those out for plain white, black or natural panels and a little baby boy could also enjoy this high-contrast nursery!

Room Resources:

Curtains – Waterfall Ruffle Curtain, $79.

Crib – Oeuf Eco-friendly Sparrow Crib {Birch}, $730.

Art – I love you more than cupcakes {eye chart print}, $15.

Mobile – Wee Gallery Mobile, Flensted, $24.

Rocker – POÄNG Rocking Chair {w/ Dala natural cover} from IKEA, $149.

Rug – Milliken Black and White Collection Vibe Techno Black Rug, $84-$319.

Dresser – EDLAND 6-drawer dresser from IKEA, $299.

    Stop it right now! This is total ESP. I literally just blogged about how this is the direction we’re going for our little one’s nursery. We’re just doing touches of lavender too. Love every single element on this page – thanks so much for posting, the timing truly couldn’t be better!
