DIY: How to Make a Large Abacus {Do-It-Yourself}

Pin It

Last year we featured a nursery with an over-sized abacus above the changing area. And I haven’t been able to get that abacus out of my mind since. It’s fantastic!

Making your own abacus gives you the opportunity to customize the colors to match your decor and you can make one for at least half the price of the original CB2 version.

Jenny {and her husband Derek} over at Anything Pretty recently made an abacus for their  nursery and share a step-by-step tutorial for how you can make one.

And they included some pretty nifty features too!

Their abacus frame is thicker so it can be screwed directly into the wall for extra safety and they made adjustments so that the beads can be switched out {in case they ever want to change the color palette}.

    Where oh where was this tutorial exactly a year ago when I was splurging on the CB2 one?? Great work, this DIY one is awesome.

  2. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I’ve been obsessed with that abacus for 9 months! I knew it couldn’t be so hard to make. Thank you!

  3. It can be confusing trying to find the best deals
    with so many to choose from. You would list those keywords in your Web page’s
    meta tags, meta description and title tag and within the copy on your home page.
    s SERPs (search engine result pages) only list pages on which the searched keywords were located not further than 520 KB from the start
    of the page.
