An Ice Cream Birthday Party From Down Under

This sweet Ice Cream Birthday Party comes from Leoni Jena of Just Call Me Martha. Leoni lives in Australia and she’s a mom to four young girls. And after you scroll through these images, you’ll notice she’s also an amazing party stylist! Leoni celebrated her daughter Annike’s birthday back in November of 2011 but was saving the big reveal for the Phyllis Hoffman Celebrate Spring 2012 magazine. Now that the mag is hot off the presses, we bow down to Leoni’s vision and creativity. Scroll down to check out this uniquely sweet ice cream birthday party from down under.

The cake was a 2 tier lemon and raspberry buttercake filled with raspberry buttercream, the “ice cream” topper was inspired by the Sundae party printable collection.

Even though this was an ice cream party, realistically, Leoni could not have ice cream on the dessert tables as it would melt. So she came up with a range of party goodies inspired by the Sundae theme. Some of these treats included ice cream pops (cake balls, iced and placed on a cone — seen above), ice cream-shaped cookies, choc pops, and mini milkshakes (each glass rim dipped in white chocolate and sprinkles).

When the party came to an end, each little guest got to take home a party favor box filled with an ice cream pencil, an ice cream note pad, an icy pole eraser, a bag of ice cream lollies and icy pole popsicle-shaped soap.

What a beautiful party and what a super idea! I would love to host a “icecream birthday party” for my son, Christian, who is turning 7 in July 2012. How would I make this more masculine yet super put together and fun? He will have boys and girls attend his party and we’ll have it at home. Would love to hear any ideas and/or input. Thanks so much! Cheers for icecream and yummy memories!!
