With Mother’s Day just days away, I’ve been thinking a lot about motherhood, the joys it has brought me and how fast my little one is growing up. Capturing those fleeting moments is essential—but snapping the perfect shot isn’t so easy!

We’ve compiled a few of our favorite “mommy and me” photo ideas, so get your cameras ready and get inspired to capture your favorite motherhood moments.

Natural light makes for the best pictures. Go outside and have some fun!

Capture the everyday! Bath time fun will soon be a thing of the past, so don’t forget to capture your little ones’ next bubble bath. This image of Jackie O. and John F. Kennedy, Jr. is iconic.

Capture the love! Here’s another great example of the beauty of photographs taken in natural light.

Have some fun with it! Even if you can’t hire a professional photographer, you should still set the stage for a picture perfect moment. This shot of Jennifer Garner and her oldest daughter Violet in rollers is a personal favorite!

Time lapse idea! This beautiful photo captures mom and daughter—and all of their similarities. Take the same picture every year and see how the both of you change over time.
