This week’s featured baby room is a sweet and bright nursery for a baby girl — featuring gray walls, birch tree decals and lots of colorful touches. This baby room even includes a trundle bed allowing this soon-to-be new mama to nap near baby — or for overnight guests to enjoy.
Child’s Name: Lucia
Child’s Age: Due in November
Location: Quito, Ecuador
What was your inspiration for the room?
A tiny wooden cat (shown in the picture below) that I got at an art fair soon after I found out I was pregnant. The color scheme for the room was inspired by the colorful kitty.
Do you have any favorite items in the room?
I love rocking babies to sleep, so my starting point for the room was the rocking chair — I also placed lots of importance in finding the best location for the chair to maximize the view. I also love the changer/dresser because of its clean lines and functionality. It is a piece that will grow with Lucy.
Etsy was our go to source for the butterfly mobile, the prints, butterfly pillow and stuffed owls.
Crib: Pottery Barn Kids – hand me down from big sister circa 2007
Changing Station/Dresser: Inspired by a Land of Nod dresser, customized to be taller for changing ease and with the addition of a removable changing station. The dresser knobs are from Anthropologie.
Rocking Chair: Custom made at a local furniture store.
Night Stand: Repurposed end table.
Trundle Bed: Custom made at a local furniture store.
Bookcase: Purchased at Office Depot and repurposed.
Crib Skirt & Changing Pad: Miss Polly Piece Goods (Etsy)
Crib Sheets: Magnolia Organics Crib Fitted Sheet purchased via Amazon
Trundle Bed Bedding: Land of Nod
Birch Tree and Butterflies Decal: A Baby Wall (Etsy)
Storage Baskets and Buckets: Land of Nod
