I love all things Mason jar related. I don’t know what it is about the vintage design of the jar that makes me want to place it in every shelf in my home.

I came across this DIY video tutorial on YouTube that will show you step-by-step how to transform a mason jar into a color vase for any room in your house, from your living room (think flower vase) to your play room (makes a great pencil holder).

DIY Mobile Ideas for Baby’s Nursery

I made this DIY faux capiz mobile for my daughter’s nursery. I used wax paper to mimic the look of capiz shells, but you could add some color and pattern by substituting your favorite fabric or craft paper.

The best part of making a mobile for baby’s nursery? It cost almost nothing to make!

Trend Spotting: Tree Branches in the Nursery

Here’s a trend that’s catching on — and it’s all about incorporating nature into your nursery design! Tree branches are making waves in the nursery design scene,  and this brilliant idea is not only trendy — it’s affordable too. Check out these 3 DIY ideas on how you can use tree branches in your baby’s nursery.

Display your little one’s little clothes. Mama oohed and aahed over all the darling baby clothing she received for the new baby, and know she can use them as decor in the nursery and really show them off (because when baby is wearing them, no one is looking at the clothes — they’re fussing over baby!). Choose 3 or 5 outfits with similar or complimenting color palettes to display (odd-numbered pairings always look better).

Use a tree branch to create 3D wall decor for the nursery. Sure, you could hang a birdhouse on your nursery walls, but why not go the extra mile and create a unique wall feature? It’s an easy DIY project. Secure a branch to the wall, hang a small wooden birdhouse and add a few faux birds to the branch.

Use tree branches to make a mobile. For a nature-themed or bird-themed nursery, we think this creative branch mobile DIY idea is a must! It can add just the right amount of whimsy to any nursery. Use one or two branches to create a hanging mobile, then add a few featured friends.

DIY Idea: Bookcase Dollhouse

When I was a little girl, I spent hours playing with my dollhouse. I loved it. I’m hoping my little girl will love them as well, so I’ve been thinking about getting her a dollhouse.

Old-fashioned dollhouses tend to be pretty pricey and require a lot of space (as an apartment dweller, my square footage is limited). Making one never even crossed my mind — I could never pull that off. Or so I thought!

Click through to check out these spectacular — and super simple! — DIY dollhouses made using a bookcase as the main structure, and wallpaper or decorative paper to decorate each room.Read More...
