Mama-of-twins Lisa of Lisa Fero Interiors says, “I have boy/girl twins and have created a gender neutral nursery for them to share. Sticking to our budget was important, so the room consisted of great inexpensive finds and diy projects.”

This week’s featured real room is a gender-neutral nursery, featuring black furniture, gray walls, and accents in turquoise and yellow. New mom Erin D. gave birth to a healthy baby girl a few short weeks ago, but when she designed this nursery she had no idea what she would be having.
Erin says, “We didn’t find out what we were having so I wanted to create a gender neutral room that was calming and relaxing— but that wasn’t yellow and green, like many think of for a gender neutral room.” Mission accomplished! The nursery is bright, inviting and uncluttered.

This week’s featured real room is a gender-neutral nursery, featuring white walls and bright chevron fabric. Mama-to-be Maggie B. of Okay, Now What? chose not to find out the sex of her baby and set off on the adventure of designing a neutral space.
She used a colorful chevron fabric as her inspiration and made it the focal point of the room by sewing curtains, throw pillows and a crib skirt for the nursery. Maggie made lots of other things too—like the tissue paper pom poms and the art in the room. By taking on all of these do-it-yourself projects, this expectant mom was able to save her money to purchase big ticket items that she really wanted—like the Monte Design rocker!
