When it comes to planning your tot’s next birthday party, you and your little one may have different party themes in mind. Mama might be dreaming of a unique, fun-filled birthday bash while your little one is fascinated by some character and wants a themed party featuring the character everywhere. And with a little creativity, you can have the best of both worlds!

Erin, of The Indigo Bunting, helped her sister throw her 5-year old son a “thunder-and-lightening-and-Thor” themed party that’s any BUT generic by designing some very unique—and incredibly adorable!—party favors for the little guests.

The one-of-a-kind party favor goodie bags included custom temporary tattoos, “Super-duper fruit snacks” for the kids (organic fruit leathers from Trader Joe’s wrapped with custom labels), purple rock candy swizzle stick with some purple chocolate candies and a spinning top.

Kalia’s Delicate Nursery (Featured Real Room)

We’re excited to feature another vintage-inspired baby girl nursery this week! Laurel of A Bubbly Life has spent countless hours preparing the perfect nursery for her daughter Kaila and we’ve have lots of beautiful pictures of the room to share with you!

This new mama took on lots of DIY projects for the nursery. She even painted a vintage trunk (below) for some additional storage space in the room. The hippo storage bin from 3 Sprouts (buy it on Amazon.com) is a playful accessory that also helps mama keep the room tidy.

Laurel also upgraded a simple paper lantern to create the light fixture above the chair in this cozy corner of the nursery.

The Jenny Lind-style crib (buy it on Amazon.com) is a favorite among new mamas. It’s timeless design and affordable price can’t be beat!

The bathroom can sometimes be the most neglected or boring space in your home. You may not even realize how much time you spend in there. With Mother’s Day just days away, I’ve been thinking a lot about motherhood, the joys it has brought me and how fast my little one is growing up. Capturing those fleeting moments is essential—but snapping the perfect shot isn’t so easy!

We’ve compiled a few of our favorite “mommy and me” photo ideas, so get your cameras ready and get inspired to capture your favorite motherhood moments.

Natural light makes for the best pictures. Go outside and have some fun!

Capture the everyday! Bath time fun will soon be a thing of the past, so don’t forget to capture your little ones’ next bubble bath. This image of Jackie O. and John F. Kennedy, Jr. is iconic.

Capture the love! Here’s another great example of the beauty of photographs taken in natural light.

Have some fun with it! Even if you can’t hire a professional photographer, you should still set the stage for a picture perfect moment. This shot of Jennifer Garner and her oldest daughter Violet in rollers is a personal favorite!

Time lapse idea! This beautiful photo captures mom and daughter—and all of their similarities. Take the same picture every year and see how the both of you change over time.
