Kittens and Pastel Pom Poms

Another fabulous Swedish find! It’s always interesting—and inspiring!—to see how others live on the other side of the pond. I’ve been pleasantly surprised to discover some amazing nurseries and kids’ rooms from around the world but there is something extra special about the decor in Sweden that gets me every time!

This charming and feminine girls’ room was designed by Madeleine of Bonjour Vintage. It’s simple and understated but it has lots of delicate, vintage details to love. I’m head-over-heels in love with the kittens wall print and the pastel pom poms hanging above the crib.Read More...

Inspired Ideas for a Stylish Life with Baby

Neon decorating ideas, new fabric collections, an inspired baby photo book idea, a new trend to love and a simple, yet genius, art idea for the nursery.

HomeLife has a great collection of neon decorating ideas (found via Decor8Blog —thanks Holly!) you’ll want to check out. This girl’s room really stood out to us —maybe it’s the neon sign— but we love how simple, bright and just plain cool it looks.

Angie of Angie Helm Interiors shared a few of her favorites from the new fabric collections available at Calico Corners last week, and I was definitely taken aback by the Key West collection. I love how vibrant the colors are —and the prints too! Fabric like this is a great way to inject some color into a nursery without having to paint —think curtains, throw pillows and book slings.

If I could travel back in time, this is a photo project with baby that I would DEFINITELY do! Reichel of Copy Cat Chic took a picture every week, for a year, of her adorable daughter Arden —and then compiled the shoots into a photo book of her first year!

Here’s a new design trend to love —dipped chair legs! You can give an old chair new life, or give a new chair a unique twist, by painting part of the legs in a bright color (via Little Green Notebook from the April issue of Better Homes & Garden).

Last but not least, here’s a reminder that sometimes genius lies in simplicity —from Netherlands’ artist Sander Lucas.

Naming Ceremony and/or Baby Shower Decorating Ideas from ‘Down Under’

I came across these pictures from Max’s Naming Day, designed by this lucky boy’s very talented Aussie mom*, on one of my favorite design sites that just so happens to be written by another talented Aussie.

I love how the sky blue and light gray color palette is brought to life with splashes of yellow. This is a gorgeous party to draw inspiration from for your baby shower. And it could easily be translated into a nursery as well… I think I just got an idea for my next inspiration board!

If I ever move out of New York City… I’m moving to Australia.

Seriously.

Seems to be like the people who live ‘down under’ are the chicest people around!

* By the way, all of the printables from this party are for sale at Style Me Gorgeous.
