‘Tis the season for decorating and we are delighted to bring you some inspiration to turn your home into a winter wonderland with 10 easy and inexpensive decorating ideas. Best of all, you can make all of these yourself!
A darling kids’ coat hanger, a stylish baby gate and a unique and hooded car seat blanket tutorial!

Your kiddos’ clothing may be small, but they sure do have a lot of it! Give your own coat hanger a break and give your wee one a place to hang their own coats and scarves, like this sweet, wooden animal coat hanger for kids. Available at Theo for (£24.95), this beautiful natural coat rack with fox, rabbit and cat profiles makes a great gift idea too! And did we hear anyone say weekend DIY project?

Baby’s safety is our number one priority as moms—but we’re not big fans of how baby gates look in the home. They’re ugly. We actually designated ours as “the baby jail.” But the Munchkin Numi is NOT one of those baby gates. It has dark wood, an aluminum frame, and it’s easy to install!

A cuddly, hooded car seat blanket DIY! This project requires some sewing skills, though the instructions provided by Kelly of The Complete Guide to Imperfect Homemaking are easy enough for a novice to follow as well. Who’s up for the challenge?

‘Tis the season for pictures, pink trees and new winter coats! We’re feeling festive after a long holiday weekend and hoping that you got to spend time with your loved ones. Now that Thanksgiving is behind us we’re gearing up for the December holidays with this week’s inspired ideas post.

Have you made any plans to photograph your littles this holiday season? For a candid photo shoot in the park with mom playing photographer or a session with a pro, we’re loving this candy cane photo idea from the photography-loving sisters at Ruffles & Light!

This post by Danielle Thompson is from 2010 but her photographs are making their way around Pinterest and we’re smitten with the tiny pink tree! Visit her blog for more great photos and some unique gift wrapping ideas.

I’m shopping for a new winter coat this year and I think it’s about time I opted for some color! I always go for black. On the top of my wish list is this J. Crew Metro Coat. A splurge item for sure… But I’ve been a good girl this year. =)

A unique wall gallery frame arrangement using vinyl wall decals, a simple entryway storage idea, and a baby apron tutorial!

I love this entryway storage idea from BHG.com. We have something similar going on in our entryway but all we have are the bins. Never thought of having a paper organizer there (though there’s always plenty of mail been left there).

Babies are messy. I don’t have to tell you that. And standard bib sizes sometimes just aren’t big enough to protect your kiddo’s clothes from food. Check out this baby bapron (bib/apron combo) tutorial from craftinessisnotoptional.com and take a stab at making your own.

An electrifying umbrella spruce-up idea, a DIY coffee table and a unique bulletin board project.

Turn a drab umbrella into a fab Fall accessory with this easy-peasy DIY from Design for Mankind. We love the geometric pattern created with handmade stencils.

This unique coffee table from DIY Vintage Chic costs only a few bucks to make and is filled with storage space. A wonderful DIY inspiration if you’re considering making your very own coffee table (click here for full tutorial).

This clever idea (via BHG.com) uses large tea towels to create a one-of-a-kind bulletin board for your home office, bedroom or kitchen. These would look equally adorable in a kids’ room or playroom. All you need is a large tea towel and a store-bought cork bulletin board to wrap.

A fun gallery wall idea that disguises light switches, a bubble baby blanket diy and a helpful resource to keep your papers organized!

Light switches can present a challenge when it comes to decorating a wall — that’s why we love this gallery wall created by Jennifer of The Little Things. Using all white frames, she created a dynamic picture wall that practically makes the thermostat and light switch disappear!

We’ve seen lots of baby blanket diys over the years — but never one as unique as this one! New mom Skyler made this “bubble” blanket for her daughter Ada — and shared all the details on her blog Awaiting Ada.

Organizing papers is not something I’m got at. I have papers strewn about all over the house! Luckily, Steph of Modern Parents Messy Kids is sharing her top 15 resources for organizing your paper life. You’ve got to check it out! There are lots of useful links that you won’t want to miss!

Soup can pencil holders, a friendly front door idea and a girl toddler room to swoon over!

John and Sherry from Young House Love are always providing us with plenty of inspiration —and eye-candy!— for all thing DIY related. We especially love their projects for their daughter Clara. We’re currently crushing on these Andy Warhol-inspired Campell’s Tomato Soup can pencil holders. And to keep little fingers safe, Sherry even took the precaution to make/insert a cork liner. Clever mama!

A friendly front door greeting! There’s nothing more welcoming then coming home and having the door great you. I desperately want a Hello Decal ($8) from Create it. Go!.

We’re big fans of Adrinka King‘s design sense. She recently revealed another one of her fabulous design projects, a peaceful yet playful toddler girl room, and it’s spectacular. Her fabric choices are flawless and really make the room. More images and room details available at ProjectNursery.com.
