Can I move in? When planning a nursery for baby, mamas-to-be can all agree that they want their space to be a place of wonderment, serenity and fun — while still appealing to mom’s design tastes. And one of the best ways to achieve this is to keep it simple. Hazel’s nursery does just that — and every single detail in the room is one to be oohed and aahed over.

I’m totally smitten with this colorful {yet dark} nursery. I love the drama of the black walls and how this new mom brought in the fun with colorful accent pieces. The pom poms and wall flowers make what would otherwise be a “flat” room POP, and the chalkboard area behind the changing table is genius! The crochet mobile and baby blanket were both made by the new mama, but my favorite item in the room? The Anthropologie rug! I’ve loved it since the first time I laid eyes on it and I’m so thrilled to see it in this nursery. It belongs there.

I have a confession. And let’s try to keep this just between us, ok?

Here goes… I’m not a fan of most celebrity nurseries.

Phew! Feels good to get that off my chest.

However, there are always exceptions like Tiffani Thiessen’s nursery and Tori Spelling’s nurseries for her son Liam and daughter Stella. And now I can add Laila Ali to that very short list of celebrity nurseries that I love.

Laila Ali worked with the uber-talented duo, Naomi Alon and Gerri Panebianco, of Little Crown Interiors to design a custom dream nursery for her little baby girl, Sydney. And they did a FANTASTIC job!

Some of my FAVORITE design features in the room include:

- The color palette. Pink and green make a great color combo. Through in a muted blue/gray and you’ve got yourself the perfect trio!

- The silver wall decals that add architecture to the room.

- The “Hope” Crib and Changing Table. Made in a gorgeous shade of pink, this crib is the combined effort of Little Crown Interiors and Newport Cottages, a luxury furniture maker. Proceeds from the sale of every “Hope” Crib go to Breast Cancer Research and the piece serves as a symbol of courage and compassion.

- The custom crib bedding. Love Bird Damask is my favorite fabric from Carousel Designs and I was so happy to see it in this nursery.

Her little girl is almost 2 and Erika wanted to make sure that her daughter’s vibrant personality was incorporated into the space.

Erika’s inspiration for the room started with a trip to the Honolulu Zoo and a stay at the Royal Hawaiian Hotel {check out Erika’s pictures of the hotel. stunning!}.

The Z Gallerie mirror {no longer available. sad face.} and the lucite tray {pictured below} are a few of my favorite items in the room and make it a little less baby and a little more trendy.

I first saw this room on Pinterest a little over a week ago and… I love it!

The soft aqua and coral color palette gives the room a ‘vintage feel’ and I’m immediately transported to a different place and era.

Classic furniture pieces and modern graphic patterns, like the rug and the crib bumper, are perfectly blended together.
