What Does The Fox Say?

We’ve all been hit hard by the YouTube sensation “What Does The Fox Say?” But kids in particular seem to be huge fans of the catchy tune. So when when I stumbled across a children’s book based on the viral video during a recent trip to Toys R Us, I knew I was way overdue for a fox-inspired finds post.

What started as the desire to create the perfect birth announcement for her daughter turned into a thriving Etsy shop, Kindertype.

Little Man Extravaganza: A Birthday Wish for Bodhi

Mustache Little Man Birthday Cake | Featured on Chic & Cheap Nursery

Although I’ve seen the “little man” theme done many times, I couldn’t help but plan this theme for my son’s first birthday party! We have called him “little man” and “Bodeman” since before he was born so it was a very fitting option for us.

Get all the party details and view more pictures of Bodhi’s first birthday extravaganza after the jump! Read More...

Vintage-Inspired Nursery for a Little Lady

This week’s featured baby room is a sweet girl nursery filled with lots of vintage-inspired details. It’s orange and teal color scheme make this room playful and bright while the vintage details in the room soften the space.

Designed by new mom Carina B., the inspiration for this real baby room came from the handmade crib bedding purchased on Etsy. By repurposing — and painting — a few previously loved pieces of furniture, and taking on a few DIY projects, Carina created a warm and inviting space for her little girl to grow in.

Check out all the details after the jump! Read More...

Inspired Ideas for a Stylish Life with Baby: 7/23/2012

A mustache find for baby, stylish kitchen inspiration and mama’s new must-have tote!

Mustaches continue to trend when it comes to all things baby and kid related—mustache bibs, mustache parties, you name it! We know, we know — they’re irresistible. If you want to add a little mustache lovin’ to your kiddos’ decor, check out these handmade mustache blankets we found on Etsy by Little Hip Squeaks.

I may not be the best cook, but I spend many hours a week in the kitchen preparing meals for my little one. And since I spend so much time there, I feel it’s important that the space is pleasant, functional and pretty. If a kitchen remodel is in your future, check out BHG.com for some inspiring ideas. Here’s one in particular I’m archiving for a future project. It uses glass plates as an alternative to the traditional tile backsplash. It’s sleek and easy to clean — and look how well it goes with the glass mosaic tile!

One of our favorite summer finds! We’re head-over-heels for the Juno totes by Deux Lux ($84-$99). They’re reversible—with eight color combinations to choose from—so basically they’re like two bags in one. Take the black/teal combo pictured above. You can spend all day running errands with the teal tote and then just flip it inside out to turn it into a black tote for your evening plans.

Inspired Ideas for a Stylish Life with Baby: 5/29/12

A home office idea, a hopscotch decal for the hallway, an organized closet space, a chevron outlet covers and a diy magazine display idea !

We love color. And we love this home office idea that incorporates lots of color into mama’s work space without going overboard—and without painting! This white room is vibrant with lots of bright, colorful accessories placed throughout the space. This is just one of many inspiring home office ideas from BHG.com.

A hopscotch floor decal?! Oh yeah! Home Made Lovely featured a house tour of Out of Alabaster blogger Lindsey’s home and the white hopscotch decal in the hallway made our jaws drop. Why didn’t we think of that? Get your very own Hopscotch Decal ($61) at yoox.com.

Home organization can sometimes seem like an impossible task—but Kristen of Peace, Love & Crafts makes it look easy. Armed with a few inexpensive canvas bins from Ikea and some felt, Kristen created these custom, labeled bins to keep all of her necessities organized.

Add some pop to your light switches and outlet covers! We’re indulging our chevron obsession once again with this Rainbow Chevron Switch Plate and Outlet Cover Set ($13) we found on Etsy.

Magazine covers are a great—and super inexpensive— way to add some life to your walls. Some people choose to frame their favorite covers but we’re loving this DIY magazine display idea by Stefanie of Ohhh… Mhhh… (found via Creature Comforts) using wire hangers.

Inspired Ideas for a Stylish Life with Baby: 5/14/12

A DIY for turning onesies into bubble dresses, a sparkly camera strap, a colorful shower curtain, a space-saving laundry idea, and an uplifting letterpress print!

Baby girls outgrow their adorable onesies in the blink of an eye. Give those too-small-too-soon onesies a second chance with this easy DIY from Ashley of Make It and Love It and turn that onesie into a darling bubble dress.

If you’re a camera-totting-DSLR-loving mama, you’ve got to check out this sparkling Stardust Camera Strap ($120) from Bloom Theory. It’s got just the right amount of sparkle, tulle, and edge—and it’s available in copper or silver.

The bathroom can sometimes be the most neglected or boring space in your home. You may not even realize how much time you spend in there. A colorful shower curtain, like this great find from Bed Bath and Beyond (Kate Spade Candy Shower Curtain, $40), is an easy and affordable way to give your bathroom a quick—and stylish!—facelift.

A long time ago we featured Martha Stewart’s embroidery hoop and laundry bag idea—it’s a great way to save some floor space in the nursery. The trouble is finding the perfect laundry bag to go with your decor! The experts at BHG recommend using a pillow case instead of a laundry bag. Genius!

We’re loving this uplifting piece from artist Matt Chase. Hang the Nothing Past, Nothing Future print (letterpress, $20) in your home as a reminder that NOW is the most important moment in your life. Live it!
