They can make a room, you know!

But have you shopped around for a rug lately?

Hello?! At least $199 for a 5′x7′ plain {no print/pattern} rug.

Check out these easy-peasy tutorials to turn an inexpensive rug into a one of a kind beauty with a stencil and some paint.

The chevron painted rug tutorial {top} comes from House of Smiths. An inexpensive IKEA flat woven rug gets a makeover just in time for Spring with paint and vinyl chevron stencils.

The Moroccan pattern rug {bottom} was a project by a grad student living in Spain from A Little Bit of Everything. Another inexpensive {and plain} Ikea rug transformed into a stunning focal point with a little creativity and some paint.

Modern Rustic: Colton’s Nursery Makeover on a Dime

When their daughter Payton arrived, Erin and her husband had just moved into their new home and had no time {or a budget} to decorate a nursery. The color on the walls was left just as it was and everything in the room was a hand-me-down.

A few years later, Payton became a big sister and her old nursery got a FANTASTIC makeover… on a dime!

Can you believe this transformation was done for a little under $150?! The bold navy color on the walls of this Modern Rustic nursery gives the room a dramatic feel while the orange accents make it pop!

Most of the items in the room were either already in Erin’s possesion, purchased at garage sales or purchased on sale {or with coupons}.
