Design Inspirations: Pinterest Monday (1/30/12)

Happy Monday! Last week was a bit rough for me (my daughter was diagnosed with pink eye—and I have been doing laundry, disinfecting her toys and washing my hands ever since) but luckily I have Pinterest for a little pick-me-up when things get tough.

It’s my little online paradise — cuz everything is just sooo pretty!

Scroll down to check out some of the things I’ve been pinning recently — and be sure to follow me on Pinterest for more inspirations! And if you don’t have a Pinterest account yet and would like an invite, just leave a comment asking for an invite and I’ll be sure to send you one.

This closet door makeover from BHG is genius! The old closet doors were replaced with new panels cut and painted to resemble an armoire. Pretty, no?

I’ve been a big fan of Sweetopia since first coming across her blog early last year. She’s incredibly talented and I wasn’t surprised at all to find out that she was the creative mind behind these cute Paris themed cookies. They’re perfect for a baby shower or birthday party!

Swoon! This baby girl nursery spotted on Rickshaw Design — designed by Jeffers Design Group — is too cute! We love the pom poms over by the window seat, the Jonathan Adler zebra rug ($1,000 — yikes! but check out this DIY if you’re interested in making a similar one yourself) and the playful mix of fabric patterns. And check out those shelves! They look expensive though :(

Handmade is awesome! Get a load at this paper chandelier from Perpetual Motion Decor ($28)—that makes a great mobile or focal point for the nursery. It has 480 hand punched card stock circles which hang on a circular ribbon wrapped frame.

And last but certainly not least, we have this super adorable elephant cake made by Hello Naomi. Naomi is based in Australia and I’ve been a big fan since we first featured this Striped Pool Party. Naomi is an engineer turned uber talented cake decorator — and I highly recommend taking a gander at her blog and checking out all of her beautiful creations.

So tell me, what’s been catching your eye on Pinterest lately?

DIY: Hanging Crayon Hearts

These are cute.

Really really cute!

A lovely craft to do with the kiddos for Valentine’s Day!

You probably already have everything you need in your home.

Of course there’s some ironing involved, and that’s where you come in.

Also makes a cute and simple DIY for a nursery!

You could make a mobile out of these or just hang them on the windows like shown in the image.

Let me introduce you to Gifts Define, makers of the most whimsical and sweet handmade mobiles I’ve ever seen!

When I first stumbled upon these, my ovaries immediately staged a protest and demanded that we have another baby just so we could get one.

True story!

1. Counting Sheep; 2. Elephants; 3. Woodland Trails; 4. Friendly Owls and Birds.

{Ok. Not really but you get the picture.}

These cuties are all hand-stitched, hand-cut and assembled by with love.

What baby wouldn’t have sweet dreams sleeping under these whimsical pals?

I Love to Love: Matryoshkas

As a young girl I was fascinated with Matryoshkas, also known as Russian nesting dolls or Babushka dolls. Lately I’ve been seeing them pop up here and there and I couldn’t resist looking for some Matryoshka items for decorating a nursery.

Details below.
