Owner and designer, Rachel Swanson, has a degree in biology but a passion for design — and just like most of us moms who run our own businesses, it all began with the birth of her child. What started as the desire to create the perfect birth announcement for her daughter turned into a thriving Etsy shop, Kindertype.

Trend Spotting: Dark walls in the nursery

Lately, I’ve noticed nurseries with chic dark walls popping up in my Pinterest feed. While some moms and dads are using dark color to add warmth and drama to the entire room, others are using it to create a focal point with an accent wall.
