I’m thrilled to announce that the Chic & Cheap Nursery team of contributors is growing! Today we welcome Amelia. She lives in Nova Scotia and is documenting her home renovation on her lovely blog House Pretty. She’s also expecting her first baby and will be joining the team to provide you with lots of nursery inspiration and DIY project ideas as she prepares her baby’s room.
For her first post on CCN, Amelia is sharing all the details on how to make bunting flag canvas art for the nursery!
***

When decorating a nursery, making your own art is a great way to save money and add a personal touch to your baby’s room. To complete this easy DIY project, all you need is a blank canvas, bunting flag template (via Little House Blog), a marker and Mod Podge.

Draw ‘strings’ across your canvas using your marker, then attach your bunting flags with Mod Podge (two thin coats over the entire surface of the canvas should do the trick). I used upholstery tacks to attach inexpensive twine to the backs of my canvases and hung them from some rustic-looking nails.

It’s a great way to add color to any nursery and the finished product is so lightweight it’s perfect for hanging over a crib.

Great stinkin’ idea!! I love it!
Nice and simple so it’s something even I could manage but the end result is very attractive indeed. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks!!! I used a tan colored yarn instead of drawing with a marker (I don’t have a steady enough hand) and it looks great. So thanks again!
Love this!! What size canvases did you use?
Also wondering about the size of the canvases? I picked up 8×10’s but now I don’t think they will be big enough. Thoughts?
Thanks!
So adorable!
