Up, Up & Away Twin Nursery

This week’s featured real nursery has an Up, Up and Away theme, featuring whimsical hot air balloons, personalized airplane decals and lots of special touches.

Mama-of-twins Lisa of Lisa Fero Interiors says, “I have boy/girl twins and have created a gender neutral nursery for them to share. Sticking to our budget was important, so the room consisted of great inexpensive finds and diy projects.”

Get the scoop on this real nursery after the jump.

Child’s Name: Saige & Zac
Child’s Age: 1 year
Location: Connecticut

What was your inspiration for the room?
I saw the hot air balloons at a trade show (before I was even pregnant) and fell in love.

Describe your decorating style.
It really depends on the client and what they are looking for. Personally for children’s rooms I like it to be whimsical and inspiring.

Favorite items in the room?
The hanging hot air balloons are my favorite items, the babies love watching them spin and it brings smiles to their faces. I also love other items such as the vintage airplane wall decals, the artwork, and the hand and foot prints over the changing table. The handmade blanket draped over the glider that my mother-in-law made is a nice touch bringing the colors together.

Any advice for mamas-to-be designing a nursery?
I purchased many items from Etsy (a great site for unique items that are well priced). When designing a bedroom for multiples I like using coordinating bedding rather than matching bedding to give each child their own identity.
