Baby and Toddler Fashions: Stylish Kids on A Budget

Thank you Old Navy for sponsoring my post today about baby and toddler styles. Old Navy is giving you 30% off everything in their baby and toddler summer collection, plus get an additional 15% off in-store.

Does it ever feel like you’re spending a small fortune on dressing your kids? Sales and coupons aren’t enough to create a chic and affordable wardrobe. My key to great style, in both decor and clothing, is sensible shopping. Let me share with you my four shopping rules for stylish and affordable baby and toddler fashions.

toddler girl affordable fashion

1.- Splurge on the basics. And by basics, I mean an item that will be able to go with multiple items of clothing that you already own.

2.- Save on party outfits. I don’t like to spend a lot of money on party outfits. I won’t do it! A party dress will only be used once or twice {if you’re lucky}.

3.- Shop for your closet. You don’t need to buy “outfits”. Everything I’ve chosen for both the girl and boy looks {aside from the bathing suit} can be combined with something your child probably already has in their closet.

4.- Plan ahead. Save big. If you find something you love that’s on sale, buy it. And buy the next size up! Also take advantage of End of Season sales and purchase basic clothing items for the following year.

  1. So cute! Love these! I love Old Navy for their super cute clothes for kids. Especially at the prices too!
Some of my other places to shop for little ones when on a budget are Carter’s, Target, and Kohl’s.

    • @Heather @ Multiply Delicious, Thanks! I had so much fun putting this post together. We shop a lot at Old Navy but I think that their girls’ clothing is much cuter than the boys. Everything except for the tees in the boys look is from Carter’s and it was sooo hard to choose. I didn’t even know you could shop directly from them online! And a Kohl’s recently opened near our house and it’s awesome! Love their Jumping Bean line.
      Thanks for stopping by!!!

  2. Hi,

Cute stuff! Just wondering how we get the 30% and the 15% off or is it just automatically applied in the store? Thanks!

    • @Theresa, The 30% discount has already been applied to Old Navy’s summer collection on their site and in stores. Click on where it says “baby and toddler summer collection” at the very top of the post and that will take you to a page where you can print out a 15% off coupon for your in-store purchase.

  3. great choices!

  4. Great post! I’m always looking for new sources for cute, inexpensive boys’ clothes. We live in the sunny southwest where hats are a necessity, and I’ve found that Janie and Jack has cute hats that often go on sale for a reasonable price.

  5. I need to have a daughter just so I can put those adorable gladiator sandals on her! Too cute! I just found a great little summer hat for Junior at ON. I think he’d love that monster tee!

  6. Plaid shorts are staple in the dude’s summer wardrobe!
