Little boys love all things on the go — airplanes, cars, trains, you name it. So it’s no surprise that transportation/travel-themed parties are a big hit with little guys. We found this darling airplane birthday party and we love all the darling details this mom put together to celebrate her son’s very first birthday!
Mom designed these vintage-looking boarding pass invitations for the birthday party.
The “up in the skies” theme was also incorporated into the food — check out those little cookies shaped like airplanes and clouds. And the cake! Red icing maps out the travel route for the little red airplanes over a fluffy layer of white icing, making it look like a delicious cloud.
All the little guests took home mini paper suitcases that they picked up at “Baggage Claim” before heading home.
You can purchase all of the paper goods for this party at Little Frills Paper + Goods.
And you can see a complete party feature over at Hip Hip Horray.

Hello Everybody! I wonder the same about the mini suit cases…hmmm. Maybe we could all just try some good old fashioned lunch boxes and paint them the color of our choice?
@ms.cherylynn: I saw mini suitcases like these at Michaels. Swing by your local craft store and see if they offer something similar.
