Gray and white — a powerful color combination. It can be crisp and contemporary or soft and delicate. This stylish duo can be used in any room in your home and never goes out of style.
Make white and gray your neutral color palate or bring them in with accessories to brighten up a dark room. Rugs, storage bins, bedding and paint are just a few ways to incorporate gray and white into your nursery decor.
What do you think of the color combo? Love it or Leave it?

love it! my son’s nursery is grey & white, with a spice of color from the lamp and oversized jack {the kind of jack used to play ‘ball & jacks’!}.
@Cristi, That sounds really cool! I’d love to see it. If you can, email me { contact@chiccheapnursery.com } a picture or post one on my FB page { http://www.facebook.com/ChicCheapNursery }.
@Nicole Abbott, yes, I would love to send you a picture or two! Thanks for asking! I will send to your email tmrw.
The gray and white nurseries you’ve featured on your blog in the past inspired my upcoming nursery design. It’s so difficult to plan for a gender-neutral room that’s not “theme overload.” Thanks for all the great ideas. Love reading every post!
@Kristin P., Thanks so much Kristin! I appreciate it =)
Definitely love. This is the combo in my living room, with some navy mixed in as well.
@E @ Oh!Apostrophe, Oh navy! I like it!
I love the combo grey and white. I’ve seen it a lot in weddings and I think that it looks chic! I think it’s a great base for a nursery and really goes with a bit of hot pinks, greens and blues!
@TheCheapChicMomma, Yes! Gray and white looks even better with little pops of bright.
LOVE. LOVE. LOVE it. I loved gray walls for a boy or girl….when we found out we were having a boy I decided to paint three gray walls and a gray/white accent wall, with bright yellow as the pop of color. I love how it turned out!
@Katie, I’d love to see it! Is it on your blog?
@Nicole Abbott, at this point the walls are painted and I have some of the accessories but the room isn’t 100% completed yet. I can share when it’s done if you’d like? Let me know!
@Katie, Please do! You can email me at contact{at}chiccheapnursery.com
LOVE it (the combo and this blog! HOW did I JUST find this???) We have a newly done gray-and-white room–just waiting to become a nursery… I think I agreed to try for a third mostly because of how clearly I could picture a gray nursery with bits of orange :)
@Whitney, LOL! Love that. Totally something I would do.
The white and grey dresser is really simple yet effective idea and I always like Ikea furniture makeovers.
Where did you find the crib bedding? It’s exactly what I’ve been looking for!
@jill suzanne, I hate to be the bearer of bad news but this bedding has been discontinued. It’s called Charlotte and was designed by DwellStudio. Sorry!
Love the grey and white combo, working on one myself. I’m looking for letters similar to ‘hazel’ – where can I find?
I’d love to see your finished room!
@Rae, Here’s the link to the etsy seller how made these: http://www.etsy.com/shop/goinggaga You should message this person with a link to the post and ask her create a custom listing for you.
I am currently STILL trying to put together my sons nursery.(he is 12 months next month) Its been a long on- going process involving LOTS of wallpaper removal. But I already had his gray(gender neutral) bedding picked out and love the idea of doing a gray striped wall so I loved seen all these gray ideas. Especially the cheveron wall.
Love the paint colors in the last picture. Do you know what they are??
@Molly, Hi there! All the room details for that last one are available here: http://www.chiccheapnursery.com/2011/real-rooms/modern-cozy-and-bright-nursery-featured-real-room/
I absolutely love number 4, it’s magnificent. Any idea of where I could get stickers like that on a smallish budget?
@Adeline: Chinoiserie wall decals would be fantastic! But I’ve never seen those on the market. You might want to try looking for wall stencils so that you can paint them on yourself.
Hi! I am in love with the crib and dresser!! I know this post is a lot later than the original posting but I am hoping you can tell me where to find them?? Thanks a bunch :)
